Being an avid gamer myself I know that you cant game on anything but a windows PC. Yet I also own a Macbook for video editing and doing work away from my desk. It is nothing new to gamers that we still cant game on Macs despite their high price point. The issue I have is the convenience , compatibility and smoothness of my Macbook is something I just cant live without from making the leap to Apple. I also want to use it at my desk, with my keyboard and mouse.

I have a solution that doesn't involve untangling all your peripheral cables and stretching them from your pc to your laptop. Using a few simple common products you can use two computers (in my case my gaming pc and my macbook) at the exact same desk setup.

You'll need 3 things a usb switch ,HDMI Splitter ,Usb Hub. Once you have these a desk setup and two computers you're set to go. Start by mounting the usb switch to the underside of your desk wherever is comfiest for you, then personally I mounted the HDMI splitter to the back of my main monitor with double sided tape but you can put that wherever works best for you. Then run a HDMI cable from the splitter to your stationary computer, and one to the place on your desk you put your laptop. Plug the usb hun into the switch, and stick that under the desk. Plug your mouse, keyboard and any other usb devices into the hub and from the other side of the switch run two usb cables to both computers.

Now you are all set. When you are finished gaming, place your laptop on the desk plug in the two cables. Then hit the switch under your desk and in an instant you are running another computer in place of your primary machine, all of that without tangled and hanging cables.
